🔥 Be Careful What You Wish For: The 25th Amendment Won’t Save You—It Might Make Things Worse 🔥
By The Mayor of Funkytown — Political Writer, Resistance Organizer, Truth Teller
🧠 “Just Invoke the 25th!” Sounds Nice—Until You Think It Through
The whispers are getting louder.
The think pieces are multiplying.
Even some Republicans are now (quietly) wondering aloud:
“Should we invoke the 25th Amendment and get rid of Trump?”
To which I say: Are you out of your goddamn minds?
Because while it might feel cathartic—finally dumping this bloated sack of indictments, delusions, and Wordle-grade vocabulary—the reality is far more dangerous.
Removing Trump via the 25th doesn’t solve the crisis.
It escalates it.
Let’s talk about why invoking the 25th might actually be the worst move America could make right now.
🧟♂️ 1. You’re Not Replacing Trump With Sanity—You’re Replacing Him With His Creatures
Take a good look at Trump’s Cabinet.
These aren’t sober constitutionalists.
They aren’t the adults in the room.
They’re handpicked sycophants, hollow opportunists, and yes-men who were willing to lick his boots in public to secure power in private.
And who would become president under the 25th?
J.D. Vance.
A man who:
Praised Hungary’s Viktor Orbán.
Said single women shouldn’t vote.
Opposes IVF, abortion, and LGBTQ rights.
Wants to put “woke” teachers and journalists in jail.
He’s Trumpism without the clown wig. A far-right ideologue with a polished exterior and a cold, calculated plan.
And he’d be surrounded by Trump’s loyalists—most of whom aren’t just complicit in fascism, they’re eager architects of it.
Why trade a delusional chaos agent for a sharper, younger, more disciplined authoritarian?
That’s not a solution.
That’s a succession plan.
🔥 2. The MAGA Cult Would Explode—and Grow Stronger
You think January 6 was bad?
Try removing Trump against his will—especially now, when he’s portraying himself as a messianic martyr under siege by the “deep state,” the courts, the media, and “the globalists.”
Invoking the 25th doesn’t just enrage the base—it validates their paranoia.
To them, it would look like:
A “deep state coup.”
A betrayal from within.
The very tyranny that Trump has been promising to protect them from.
It would turn Trump into a political martyr, fueling mass unrest, armed uprisings, and an even deeper radicalization of the right.
You don’t neuter a cult by attacking its figurehead.
You decapitate the movement by dismantling its infrastructure, not making its leader a symbol of persecution.
🧬 3. Trump Isn’t the Problem—He’s the Symptom
The most dangerous lie Democrats and moderates tell themselves is this:
“If we just get rid of Trump, everything will go back to normal.”
Nope. That ship sailed. It hit an iceberg, caught fire, and now Ron DeSantis is trying to charge you extra for the lifeboat.
Trump didn’t invent the fascist movement. He unleashed it.
And behind him is a well-funded, organized machine that includes:
Christian nationalists
White supremacists
Billionaire oligarchs
Tech bros with messiah complexes
A media echo chamber that functions like state propaganda
They’re not going away if Trump does.
In fact, they’re already planning for the post-Trump world.
Project 2028. The Heritage Foundation’s “Mandate for Leadership.” Vance. Hawley. Lake. They’re waiting in the wings, polishing their boots and smiling politely, while sharpening the knives.
Trump is the bombastic distraction. The loud orange decoy.
The real threat is the fascist machine that put him there and plans to outlive him.
🧨 4. The 25th Gives Cover to Cowards
Let’s be brutally honest:
Most of the people now whispering about the 25th?
They don’t care about saving democracy. They care about saving themselves.
Invoking the 25th lets weak-kneed Republicans pretend they stood up to Trump without ever having to vote against him, confront him, or hold him accountable through impeachment or trial.
It’s a procedural escape hatch for cowards.
They get to wash their hands like Pontius Pilate and say:
“Hey, we didn’t turn on the base! He was just unfit!”
And then they go right back to pushing the same agenda, with a new face and fewer indictments.
No thanks.
🧯 5. You Can’t Bypass a Rotten System—You Have to Burn It Out
Let’s not pretend the 25th Amendment is some magic cure.
It’s a bandage on a hemorrhage.
A shortcut that avoids the real work: confronting and defeating fascism at the ballot box, in the courts, in the streets, and in every damn institution.
Trumpism isn’t going to be solved by a Cabinet revolt.
It’s going to take:
Mass mobilization
Relentless accountability
A media that stops both-sidesing fascism
A Democratic Party with an actual spine
A resistance movement that doesn’t blink
The 25th would be a temporary cosmetic fix that looks like action, but leaves the machine intact.
That’s not victory. That’s surrender in a nicer suit.
⚖️ Why This Matters
Don’t fall for the fantasy.
The 25th Amendment won’t save you.
It won’t protect democracy.
It won’t heal the country.
It just replaces the fire with a smoldering, more efficient inferno.
You don’t want Trump removed by his inner circle of fascist collaborators.
You want the whole damn regime broken, discredited, and swept into the dustbin of history.
Trump isn’t the disease.
He’s the rash.
Treat the disease—or watch the whole body rot.
