Stop Calling Them Republicans — Call Them What They Are: Fascists
By: The Mayor of Funkytown – Burning the Empire with Style
🧨 The GOP Is Dead. What’s Replaced It Is Something Far Worse.
Once upon a time, the Republican Party stood for small government, free markets, balanced budgets, and some warped interpretation of “personal liberty.” It was a party of country club elites and Chamber of Commerce opportunists. You could argue with them. You could even laugh at them. But they believed in elections, handshakes, and something loosely resembling the American experiment.
That party is gone.
Dead.
Buried.
Decomposing beneath a golden toilet somewhere in Mar-a-Lago.
What remains isn’t Republican.
It’s fascist.
And it’s time we stopped dignifying it with a label that no longer applies.
🔥 If It Walks Like a Fascist and Talks Like a Fascist…
Here’s a quick checklist. Ask yourself if it sounds like the Republican Party—or something darker:
Leader worship bordering on a cult? ✅
Elections only matter when they win? ✅
Vilification of immigrants, minorities, LGBTQ+ people, and the press? ✅
Authoritarian crackdowns on protest, education, and dissent? ✅
Militarized police and open collaboration with white nationalist militias? ✅
Centralizing power in one man while dismantling checks and balances? ✅
Criminalizing political opponents? ✅
Let’s not dance around this. The MAGA movement isn’t conservative. It’s an American flavor of fascism, marinated in Christian nationalism, wrapped in a Walmart flag, and sold as “freedom” by billionaires who wouldn’t recognize liberty if it bit them in their offshore bank account.
🧠 Words Matter. “Republican” Is a Lie.
By continuing to call these people “Republicans,” we legitimize them. We reinforce the illusion that this is still a functioning political party engaged in democratic discourse. It’s not.
Worse—calling them Republicans falsely suggests they still believe in a constitutional representative republic.
They do not.
They believe in one-man rule. They believe the Constitution is a relic to be rewritten by fiat or ignored entirely. They believe power belongs only to them and their voters. Everyone else? Enemies of the state.
The erosion has been happening for decades, from Eisenhower to Reagan to Gingrich to Bush to Trump.
What started as dog whistles and deregulation became voter suppression, gerrymandering, and right-wing media brainwashing.
Now it’s full-throated authoritarianism, carried out by a base that has been trained to cheer for its own demise as long as it owns the libs.
They're not Republicans. They're fascists.
Start saying it. Out loud. With your whole chest.
⚠️ This Isn’t Just Semantics—It’s Survival
The danger in mislabeling them is strategic. If you think you're up against a “conservative” opponent, you play by the rules. You appeal to norms. You expect guardrails.
But if you’re up against a fascist movement?
You fight like hell.
You stop giving them airtime, stop pretending they're “misguided,” stop inviting them on panels and letting them “both sides” their way into mainstream legitimacy.
This isn’t a debate club anymore. This is a five-alarm fire.
They have already tried to overthrow one election and are openly plotting to steal the next.
They are passing laws to silence opposition and criminalize protest.
They are rewriting history, banning books, jailing political enemies, and deploying federal agents against their own citizens.
Still think this is a political disagreement?
It’s a coup. In slow motion.
And it’s working.
🇺🇸 You Can’t Save Democracy If You Keep Pretending These People Believe in It
Stop saying “Republicans.”
They are not operating in good faith.
They are not working within the system—they are dismantling it piece by piece, while corporate media still insists on calling it a “deep partisan divide.”
It's not a divide. It's a hostile takeover.
You don’t compromise with that. You resist it.
You expose it.
You defeat it.
🔚 They Told Us Who They Are. Believe Them.
When they chant “Trump or Death,” believe them.
When they say immigrants are “invaders,” believe them.
When they threaten to jail journalists, teachers, and opponents, believe them.
When they say they’ll “terminate” the Constitution to reinstate their orange messiah, believe them.
They’ve dropped the mask.
We need to drop the euphemisms.
🚨 Call Them What They Are: The American Fascist Party
We don’t have time for civility. We don’t have time for careful phrasing.
We have one job: to be clear and loud and relentless in naming this threat for what it is.
This isn’t about Democrats vs Republicans anymore.
This is democracy vs fascism.
Freedom vs submission.
The future vs the abyss.
If we want to win, we have to fight like we know what we’re up against. And step one is calling it by its goddamn name.
