THE GREAT DRUG WAR CON: WHY TRUMP’S “WAR ON DRUGS” SMELLS LIKE CRUDE OIL AND BULLSHIT
By The Unredacted Bastard — The Bastard • The Scourge • The Problem You Should’ve Foreseen
💣 TRUTH BOMB #1:
“When a politician suddenly pretends to care about drugs, look for what they really want. It’s never sobriety.”
— A Political Scientist Who Definitely Lost Ten Years Off Their Life Studying U.S. Policy
Let’s cut through the horseshit.
Donald Trump’s so-called “war on drugs” isn’t a moral crusade, a public-health mission, or even a half-assed attempt at pretending he cares about overdose victims. It’s a prop, a backdrop, a fake moral flag he waves while he’s eyeballing the real prize like a raccoon casing a campsite cooler:
Venezuelan oil.
Yeah, the black, sludgy, planet-roasting kind. The kind he can pump, sell, weaponize, leverage, and brag about like it’s a golden toilet installed in Air Force One.
And the evidence is right in front of our faces — you just have to scrape away the bullshit that’s been sprayed over everything like a Gallagher show with fewer watermelons and more autocracy.
THE DRUG DEALER PARDON PROBLEM
If Trump is really the shotgun-toting, iron-fisted, “hang the traffickers” crusader he keeps screaming about, then someone needs to explain why the man keeps pardoning drug dealers like he’s Santa Claus for felons.
No, seriously — this motherfucker has pardoned:
Drug traffickers
Drug conspirators
Drug kingpins
And multiple people who were literally still under investigation for drug crimes
💣 TRUTH BOMB #2:
“If your ‘war’ involves forgiving the people you claim to be fighting, congratulations — it’s not a war. It’s a business partnership.”
— An Ex-DEA Agent Who Definitely Drinks His Coffee Black and Regrets Every Career Choice
You don’t get to shout “EXECUTE THE DRUG DEALERS!” onstage like a fascist game show host, and then turn around and give those same dealers a shiny presidential pardon like a goddamn party favor.
Not unless the drug war isn’t the point.
Not unless it’s a distraction.
Not unless something else is on the menu.
Let’s break down some of these pardons more closely. For instance, take Ross Ulbricht, founder of Silk Road. Trump framed him as a “tech innovator,” conveniently ignoring that Silk Road was essentially the Amazon Prime of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. Then there are multiple traffickers whose names are only whispered in DEA offices, now being handed full presidential pardons as if they’re being gifted a free Starbucks latte. This is not “justice,” folks. This is performative morality designed to fool idiots.
AND THAT “SOMETHING ELSE” SMELLS LIKE VENEZUELA
American politicians have been drooling over Venezuelan oil for decades. It’s the same old story:
Claim the country is unstable
Paint the leadership as corrupt and evil
Declare a national security threat
Wave the “drug war” flag
Do whatever the fuck you wanted to do anyway
Trump? Not subtle. Not sophisticated.
He’s opportunistic, a con man with a Twitter account and a pre-existing hard-on for petrochemical dominance.
Suddenly, we hear:
“Drug cartels are taking over Venezuela!”
“The border is being flooded with Venezuelan drugs!”
“It’s a narco-state!”
Right. And I’m an Olympic figure skater.
This is a pretext, a narrative covering the real objective: control over the hemisphere’s largest proven oil reserves, and the ability to hand lucrative contracts to cronies while telling America he’s “protecting children.”
THE MAGIC TRICK: YELL “DRUGS” WHILE GRABBING EVERYTHING ELSE
Trump’s drug narrative is a magician’s trick with the audience too distracted to notice the hand he’s using to pocket barrels of crude. While he screams about fentanyl, the real moves happen quietly:
Energy dominance: securing contracts and leverage in Venezuela
Military positioning: justifying strikes without oversight
Domestic politics: keeping MAGA hardliners in a rage bubble
International reputation: signaling he’s still “tough” while undermining democracy
💣 TRUTH BOMB #3:
“When a government builds a villain out of thin air, it’s usually because someone wants something else very badly.”
— Foreign Policy Analyst Who Drinks Too Much Espresso
THE OIL AGENDA: FOLLOW THE FUCKING BARRELS
Let’s unpack why Venezuela matters so damn much:
Reserves: Largest proven oil reserves in the world. Bigger than Saudi Arabia. Bigger than Iran.
Trump’s obsession: He’s drooled over strongmen who control resources because he likes leverage in energy, not ideology.
Destabilization benefits: Weakening Venezuela creates a ripe environment for “friendly” extraction contracts.
All of this is wrapped in a neat little bow of drug rhetoric. Bomb boats here, designate some “narco-terrorists” there, and suddenly you’ve got the appearance of a moral crusade masking economic imperialism.
💣 TRUTH BOMB #4:
“When the rhetoric doesn’t match the actions, the motive isn’t morality — it’s profit.”
— Energy Policy Expert Who Sleeps With One Eye Open
OTHER ULTERIOR MOTIVES
Since we’re being brutally honest, here’s the full buffet:
Domestic Distraction: Every time a legal or political scandal explodes, a new “strike” magically hits the news cycle.
Cartel Consolidation: Pardon the top traffickers, target small players, centralize power — brilliant if you’re running a criminal enterprise disguised as a presidency.
Executive Power Expansion: Military operations abroad broaden unilateral authority. Trump loves this.
Border Militarization: Label every migrant a cartel affiliate, justify surveillance and crackdowns.
Petroleum Politics: It’s all about energy leverage. He’s building a Trump Doctrine powered by oil, not morality.
THE DOMESTIC ANGLE: HYPOCRISY FOR THE BASE
Back home, the narrative serves two purposes:
Fear Porn for Voters: Fentanyl, drugs, cartels — Trump brands them like fire alarms, and the base salivates.
Redirection: Pardons, pardons, and more pardons. While the public cheers “he’s tough on crime,” he’s actually creating a pipeline of corruption and geopolitical gain.
Meanwhile, drug overdose deaths continue to climb. Policies that might actually help — funding treatment, harm reduction programs — get zero attention. It’s all theater.
💣 TRUTH BOMB #5:
“A man who pardons traffickers while claiming to wage a drug war isn’t fighting crime. He’s fighting optics.”
— Former Law Enforcement Officer Who Is Crying Inside
INTERNATIONAL CONSEQUENCES: DESTABILIZATION AND DANGER
By using “drug threats” as justification for interventions, Trump:
Signals tolerance for unilateral military strikes
Increases volatility in Latin America
Risks sparking wider conflicts over resources
Enables allies and proxies to act with impunity
Venezuela isn’t just a target — it’s a sandbox for geopolitical flexing disguised as justice. And the global fallout? Civilians, migrants, and neighbors pay the price.
ECONOMIC IMPACTS: AMERICA IS NOT OFF THE HOOK
Oil manipulation affects gas prices at home
Sanctions impact global markets
Crony contracts pad the pockets of a few while taxpayers shoulder costs
If Trump’s “war on drugs” were a stock, it would be the market equivalent of selling snake oil to Wall Street while stealing the bottle labels.
💣 TRUTH BOMB #6:
“The war is not on drugs, the war is on oversight, accountability, and anything that might stop his profit margin.”
