𧨠The United States Is Not a White CountryâAnd It Never Was
Time to drag this racist delusion to the curb where it belongs.

Letâs rip the Band-Aid off:
This country was never a âwhite country.â It was built on the backs of enslaved Africans, by exploited immigrants, and for rich white landowners, who wrote lofty documents about âfreedomâ while owning human beings and committing genocide. If your rebuttal is âbut the Founding Fathers were white,â congratulations: youâve identified the problem, not the solution.
And yet, here we are in 2025, still entertaining this backwards, inbred delusion that America belongs to whiteness. That itâs the âbirthrightâ of some sunburnt dude in wraparound shades and a Punisher decal. These people couldnât find Vienna on a map, but theyâre ready to give you a TED Talk on âEuropean heritageâ while eating gas station chicken tenders in a parking lot.
Letâs be clear: this country has never been white in the way they imagine it. Not culturally. Not demographically. Not spiritually. We are a mess of cultures, cuisines, histories, rhythms, dialects, and identities. Weâve always been. The only ones who think otherwise are the ones too scared, too lazy, or too brainwashed to see beyond their cul-de-sac.
Letâs Talk Numbers, Since Racists Donât
The Census doesnât lieâthough racists sure love to pretend it does. White Americans made up 90% of the population in 1950. Today? Barely 58%âand that number includes multiracial people who check âwhiteâ along with something else. In California, Texas, Nevada, and Hawaii, white people arenât the majority. They havenât been for years.
And guess what? The world didnât end.
Contrary to racist fever dreams, Black and brown people donât want revengeâthey want equality. They want fairness. But racists assume everyoneâs as vengeful, bitter, and power-hungry as they are, because thatâs all they know. Thatâs what theyâd do if the roles were reversed.
What they fear isnât âreplacement.â What they fear is irrelevance.
âThis Is a White Country!â
That phrase gets shouted online like a racist mating callâespecially when Trump holds a rally in some forgotten parking lot between a Hobby Lobby and a methadone clinic. The crowd roars, white fists rise, and the chants begin. "America First!" "Build the wall!" "Take our country back!"
From who?
From the Black woman who runs your school board?
From the Latino nurse who saved your uncleâs life?
From the Sikh gas station owner who works 14 hours a day and still smiles when you walk in?
No, what you really mean is: âIâm losing power. Iâm losing privilege. Iâm losing cultural dominanceâand I want someone to blame.â
Newsflash: You were never superior. You were favored by a rigged system. And now that the system is crumbling, youâre throwing tantrums like toddlers in a Walmart.
The Real Melting Pot
They love to say we should all âspeak Englishâ and âassimilate.â First of all, America doesnât have an official language. Second, if weâre going to force assimilation, I say everyone should learn how to cook biryani, dance salsa, use chopsticks, and know at least one Kendrick Lamar verse by heart.
That's what makes this country beautiful. That's what makes it strong. Not a bunch of mono-culture mouth breathers screaming about âthe good olâ days,â when the only thing good was their sense of unchecked entitlement.
America is at its best when it welcomes everyone. Thatâs not just feel-good liberal talk. Itâs a historical fact. Immigrants built the railroads. Black Americans built the culture. Asians and Latinos fueled the tech and food revolutions. Queer folks sparked every major civil rights shift in the last century. Indigenous people taught survival on the very land colonizers pillaged.
White supremacy held us back. Diversity launched us forward.
Why They Cling to the Lie
Racism is a crutch for the mediocre. When your life sucks and your boss pays you in peanuts, itâs easier to blame âillegalsâ than your own poor decisions. Itâs easier to scapegoat immigrants than ask why your governor cut your Medicaid and closed your factory. Trump gave these people a godâa bloated, orange deity of grievance and crueltyâand they worship him because he tells them theyâre better than someone else.
Thatâs the real MAGA gospel:
You may be broke, uneducated, angry, and irrelevantâbut at least youâre white.
A Nation of Roads, But No One Leaves Their Own
These people donât travel. They donât explore. They donât experience. They stay in their bubble, afraid of anything that challenges their worldview. They wave the American flag like itâs a mirror, but the only reflection they see is their own fear.
Maybe they should leave their county once in a while. Visit Queens. Visit Los Angeles. Visit the Navajo Nation. Visit Dearborn. Visit the South Side. Visit a mosque, a synagogue, or a Buddhist temple. Hell, visit a decent soul food joint and talk to someone who doesnât look like your cousin.
You might find out America is biggerâand betterâthan your comfort zone.
Hereâs the Truth, Straight No Chaser:
America was founded by contradiction: liberty and slavery, ideals and genocide. But its saving grace was always its potential to evolve. Every generation that pushed us forwardâfrom abolition to civil rights to marriage equalityâdid so by rejecting the idea that America belongs to just one kind of person.
Weâre not there yet. But weâre sure as hell not going backwards for the sake of some Confederate cosplay fantasy.
So to every racist who thinks this is a âwhite countryâ:
Get over yourself.
This land isnât yours.
It belongs to the dreamers, the workers, the artists, the poets, the immigrants, the people who make things and break things and rebuild them better. It belongs to those who see America not as a mirror, but as a canvas.
And if you donât like it?
There are plenty of mono-ethnic countries you can move to.
But spoiler alert: they donât want you either.
