The fragmentation of society by destruction of trust... in this case trust representing the foundations of societies reality. I have always been a chaos theorist and this fits in nicely with my fragmented trust issues.
Which, imo, is even more tragic in a way. Will the curve ever catch up? Not something I've worried about in the past, but it seems objects in the rear view mirror may be further than they really are.
I think we both know where we've been, and what it's going to take to recover from this disaster, at least on some level. It breaks my heart to see this and that I'll probably never see this country anywhere near as good as it was prior to that fateful escalator ride. Not that it was ever perfect, but it as least somewhat resembled a civilized society.

Instead of fragmented trust issues, I prefer to think of it as being ahead of the curve.

I'm definitely not liking the road we've been on for some time now. I'll probably be long dead before it's ever completely fixed, if it can be at all.
How so, Tom?
I mean, ahead of the curve?
